It is the night before . . .

. . . Blog-o-rama,
and all though my house,
the only thing that stirred was,
a pencil to paper,
as I tried to draw up some more characters.

I have about half of my characters drawn up in very rough sketches, but only the ones from my iPod (from a free "scribble" app) are web ready. So, like 4 "Blogging Events" previous, I will be creating the rest as I go. I download another trial version of Autodesk Maya (2011) and hope to get some screenshots of 3D characters too.

Please visit Blog-o-rama 2010 and check out what others are
blogging about and for.

If you have a couple extra dollars, then please think to sponsor me and
help the Tibetan Nuns; info is on the sidebar.

Thank you!

This Year's Theme

I want to create 49 original characters. I have a few characters I use in some my work currently, mostly in Flash. Since I do not have much time until the event, posts will mostly be sketches of the character with a name and description of who they are. If I find some extra time maybe I will have some Flash sketches, via screenshots, or more awesome, clay models.

Year 5 Charity

For 4 of 5 years participating in the official Blogathon (the 5th being The Day of Blogs where I blogged for The Sera Je Monastery's Food Fund), I will continue my tradition of blogging for the Tibetan Nuns Project.

"The Tibetan Nuns Project was founded over two decades ago to provide education and humanitarian aid to refugee nuns from Tibet and Himalayan regions of India. The Project provides facilities and programs to educate, empower, and improve the status of ordained Tibetan women.

The Tibetan Nuns Project is dedicated to:
  • Improving standards of food, sanitation, medical care, and education in Tibetan nunneries
  • Working towards future self-sufficiency through educational and training opportunities
  • Training nuns to take leadership and service roles within their communities
  • Improving the level and status of ordained Buddhist women
  • Assisting recently arrived refugee nuns from Tibet
  • Continuing to establish further facilities for Buddhist nuns
  • Through our sponsorship program, funded by sponsors from around the world, we currently support over 700 Tibetan nuns living in north India. To learn more, click here.
The Tibetan Nuns Project was established under the auspices of the Tibetan Women's Association and the Department of Religion and Culture of H.H. the Dalai Lama."

Blogathon is an annual charity event where participants gather sponsors and, on the designated day, blog every half hour for 24 hours straight.
